She works with field recording, spoken word, participatory events and fragmentary notes, using listening to explore the subtle relationships between bodies, places and lived experience.

Rather than treating sound as representation, Han approaches it as a site of exchange and knowledge production. She creates temporary situations in which presence and connection can unfold, allowing listening to become a shared experience rather than a means of simply recording or preserving.

Growing up within a patriarchal family continues to inform Han’s inquiry into inherited narratives, vulnerability and the politics of voice. While rooted in personal experience, her work moves beyond autobiography to consider how intimate experiences resonate across wider cultural contexts. Through poetic documentation, she traces how partial memories, everyday encounters and shifting environments can be held, reimagined and transformed.

Alongside her individual practice, Han founded chimimora, an interdisciplinary platform for artistic research, public listening and cross-cultural collaboration. Through screenings, performances, workshops and experimental gatherings, Chimimora functions as an evolving site for collective inquiry into migration, memory and social imagination.

2 *art is happening and 合一* 8

EDUCATION

MA Filmmaking (Sound Recording, Post-Production &
